Project Overview
Capital Arts Cambodia successfully delivered a complete Braille signage solution for Techno International Airport—one of Cambodia’s largest and most advanced aviation developments. This project required strict adherence to international accessibility standards to ensure the airport environment is inclusive, safe, and easy to navigate for passengers with visual impairments.
Client Objective
The airport development team required:
High-precision Braille directional signs,
Consistent placement following global wayfinding standards,
Durable materials suitable for long-term use,
A signage system that meets ADA-compliant braille standards while aligning with the airport’s modern design identity.
The Challenge
This was a unique project in Cambodia because Braille signage production is still very new in the local market, and few companies possessed the experience or technical understanding to deliver it correctly. The challenges included:
Lack of local references for Braille production
Ensuring correct Braille translation and dot spacing
Finding the right tactile materials and embossing techniques
Meeting airport safety and durability requirements
Coordinating with multiple contractors during construction

Our Approach
1. Collaboration with Braille Education Experts
We connected with a specialized school for visually impaired learners in Cambodia to ensure all Braille translations, dot heights, spacing, and character accuracy met recognized standards.
2. Material & Technique Development
We developed custom prototypes using:
High-grade acrylic and stainless steel
Precision engraving and tactile embossing
Long-lasting polyurethane finishes for high-traffic areas
These prototypes were tested and approved before mass production.
3. Engineering & Fabrication
Our engineering team created detailed technical drawings for every sign, ensuring:
Perfect tactile height
Accurate character layout
Easy recognition for visually impaired users
All signs were produced in our own fabrication facility using advanced CNC and laser engraving systems.
4. Installation & Quality Assurance
Installation followed strict guidelines for height, placement, and accessibility.
Post-installation, Capital Arts performed a full QA inspection with the airport team.
Project Outcome
The completed Braille signage system provides:
Clear and accessible navigation for visually impaired passengers
International-standard tactile quality
Durable signs designed for long-term airport use
Seamless integration with the overall airport branding and architecture
This project showcases Capital Arts’ ability to deliver specialized, high-precision signage with social impact, marking one of the first large-scale Braille signage implementations in Cambodia.
